Transitionals

Summer to Fall, church to brunch.. it always helps to have outfits in your closet that can transition you from one thing to the next without bringing 12 changes of clothes or sweating half of your face off by 1 o’clock.

With Fall looks quickly approaching and settling in the stores but the relentless Summer heat just hangin’ around, it can put you in a pickle when trying to coordinate an outfit.

Enter: transitional pieces:

  • Lightweight cardigans or sweaters in colors that are light but trendy for Fall (think dusty pink, light grey, light taupe, muted blues, etc.)
  • Peep-toe booties
  • Sweater tanks
  • Simple and neutral dresses or skirts
  • Thinner ankle or slightly cropped pants/denim
  • Denim jackets
  • Chambray shirts

… and the list continues!

These items are also quite useful for different occasions during the same day where you may need to be a little more conservative at one location but can lose a layer afterward.

Some of my favorite places to find great transitional pieces are Nordstrom, Express, and Macy’s. Many times these pieces can also double as great neutrals to wear at any time of the year, which means getting more use for your money! What are some of your favorite transitional items?

Happy Sunday!

I’ve Got Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

After a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning in the sunshine state, we are spending the remainder of our day in comfy clothes with some crazy rainstorms outside.

This weekend consisted of time with my future in-laws: boating, wedding planning with our incredibly talented coordinator, church and lots of good food!

This yellow wrap dress was perfect for church and a late breakfast, and will be an amazing transitional piece from Summer to Fall. The dress is very lightweight and comfortable and cut appropriately for most occasions! It’s currently on sale so you can snag it at an amazing price!

All in the Details

PSA: Pineapple-blueberry popsicles are a thing, and they will make you forget everything else around you.

This is me in my natural habitat (usually anything revolving around food). Being that my career is in the medical profession and I enjoy working out, 90% of my time is usually spent in either scrubs or spandex. I’ve been trying to get out of my slump and dress in “normal” clothes when I have the chance, and I’ve forgotten just how much I enjoy it!

I’ll take some time to post some gym/workout-related things on my page for y’all as well.

I just love the details of this outfit! This shirt is gorgeous, lightweight (SOOO important for spring and summer in Florida), and has some really amazing intricacies along the neckline. I’ve layered two affordable gold necklaces with it, that have recently become my go-to with most open necklines. I matched this all up with a peach colored pair of shorts from J.Crew and my beige Tory Burch patent leather sandals, and my tried-and-true Rebecca Minkoff Ostrich-print MAC bag with gold hardware. I’ll link everything below!

Arm Candy

Always a big fan of “arm candy”, I especially love the spring and summer months because you can incorporate some vibrant colors to your stack! I always use a few of my staple pieces and essentially just switch around some cheaper pieces during the different seasons to achieve my desired look! I’m currently loving bright aqua and turquoise pieces mixed with both gold and silver, found below:

I’ve linked some other bracelets found at Nordstrom that would be perfect for both a pop of color or a good neutral piece you can wear year-round! Links correspond to numbers and are found below the photos.

Do you like the stackable trend or do you stick to clean and simple? The good news is that no matter which you prefer, the above items are great to do both!
